Le mur autour de la tour Eiffel : une privatisation inacceptable

Depuis les attentats de 2015, le parvis de la tour Eiffel a été totalement bitumé avec la construction d’un mur de sécurité présenté comme provisoire.

Sept ans plus tard, la mairie de Paris s’abrite derrière la préfecture pour maintenir cette enceinte, privant les Parisiens d’une grande partie des jardins du Champ-de-Mars. Une aberration alors que les autres grands monuments n’ont jamais justifié un tel traitement.

Le projet proposé : greenwashing et bétonnisation

Le très onéreux projet “OnE” (110 M€) qui vise à transformer le site Tour Eiffel dans le cadre des Jeux Olympiques 2024 est rejeté massivement par les Parisiens, 90% d’opposants dans l’enquête publique de novembre 2021.

  • Non à l’abattage et la mise en danger des dizaines d’arbres en bonne santé, en particulier les arbres bicentenaires et centenaires, véritables poumons verts pour la ville
  • Non à la construction de cinq bâtiments dans les espaces boisés classés sur des surfaces de pleine terre : deux boutiques-restaurants (4,50 mètres de haut, 443m² au sol) et des bureaux dans les jardins de la tour Eiffel – ces bureaux peuvent être installés n’importe où en dehors des espaces boisés classés
  • Non au déclassement de 950m² d’espaces boisés classés sur ce site
  • Non à la privatisation des jardins : restaurant dans la grotte- belvédère, création de kiosques massifs en rupture avec le site Belle Époque, maintien du mur d’enceinte
  • Non à la bétonisation des sols dans l’enceinte des jardins

Do not concrete the tower or its gardens!
Do not condemn these hundred-year-old trees!

The wall around the Eiffel Tower: an unacceptable privatization

Since the 2015 attacks, the forecourt of the Eiffel Tower has been completely paved with the construction of a security wall presented as temporary. Seven years later, the town hall of Paris takes shelter behind the prefecture to maintain this
enclosure, depriving the Parisians of a large part of the gardens of the Champ-de-Mars. An aberration when the other great monuments have never justified such treatment.

The proposed project: greenwashing and concreting

The very expensive “OnE” project (€110 million) which aims to transform the Eiffel Tower site as part of the 2024 Olympic Games is massively rejected by Parisians, 90% of opponents in the November 2021 public inquiry.

  • No to the felling and endangering of dozens of healthy trees, especially bicentennial andcentenary trees, real green lungs for the city
  • No to the construction of five buildings in classified wooded areas on open ground: two shop-restaurants (4.50 meters high, 443m² on the ground) and offices in the gardens of the Eiffel Tower – these offices can be installed anywhere outside classified wooded areas
  • No to the downgrading of 950m² of classified wooded areas on this site
  • No to the privatization of the gardens: restaurant in the cave-belvedere, creation of massive kiosks in rupture with the Belle Époque site, maintenance of the surrounding wall
  • No to the concreting of the grounds in the enclosure of the gardens
